Position Summary
The Financial Analyst, Program Finance plays a key role in supporting aircraft program performance across development, production, and sustainment phases. This role provides financial insight, analysis, and reporting to help leadership make informed decisions and ensure program profitability and cost control. The successful candidate will combine strong analytical and technical skills with curiosity and collaboration, connecting financial results to operational outcomes to drive business performance.
Key Responsibilities
Program Financial Management
Serve as a financial partner to assigned aircraft programs, supporting cost tracking, forecasting, and performance reporting throughout the program lifecycle.
Track and report program performance against budgets, forecasts, and key milestones, clearly communicating whether programs are on or off track.
Monitor program cost drivers and support cost-reduction and productivity initiatives.
Prepare monthly KPI reports and dashboards, including non-recurring spend analysis, cash flow forecasts, unit cost projections, and customer deposit tracking.
Forecasting, Budgeting & Financial Reporting
Lead the preparation of program-level forecasts, long-range plans, and annual budgets, integrating data from Program Management, Engineering, Production, Industrialization, Operations, Supply Chain, and other supporting functions.
Ensure accurate and timely loading of program budgets and forecasts into corporate planning systems (e.g., Vena, IFS Cloud), benchmarking against latest forecasts and business cases.
Perform detailed variance analysis (actual vs. forecast/budget), identifying risks, opportunities, and actionable recommendations for leadership.
Support month-end and quarter-end close activities, including accruals, adjustments, and reporting packages.
Business Case & Investment Analysis
Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate new projects, change requests (PCRs), and opportunities (P&Os).
Conduct ROI, NPV, and IRR analyses to support investment and strategic decision-making.
Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure that business cases are financially sound, aligned with program objectives, and updated regularly as assumptions evolve.
Data, Systems, and Process Improvement
Use SQL, Power Query, or Power BI to automate recurring reports and improve accuracy.
Support ongoing optimization of IFS Cloud financial processes and reporting structures, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency and data integrity.
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce manual effort, and enhance decision support.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Program Management, Engineering, Production, Industrialization, Operations, Supply Chain, and other business areas to gather inputs, validate assumptions, and align financial reporting with operational execution.
Provide finance support during program and leadership reviews, clearly articulating financial insights and key performance drivers.
Build strong working relationships across departments, promoting transparency, accountability, and teamwork.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Engineering required, CPA, CFA, or MBA an asset.
3–5 years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, or program finance within a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
Demonstrated experience with budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
Experience with IFS Cloud or other ERP systems preferred; Vena, SQL, Power Query, or Power BI considered strong assets.
Technical & Professional Skills
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong working knowledge of Power BI or other data visualization tools.
Ability to manage and analyze complex data effectively to produce meaningful financial insights.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt content for both detailed and executive audiences.
