Position Summary
Reporting to the Avionics Manager, the Avionics Technician performs a variety of routine/non routine tasks that ensure that work performed in Avionics on aircraft is carried out in accordance with applicable standards of Airworthiness

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Set up and operate necessary calibrated test equipment
Conduct functional and operational tests to evaluate performance and reliability
Have basic understanding of avionics manuals, technical publications and aircraft systems
Report avionics defects
Perform repairs, rebuilds, installs, troubleshooting, modifications and testing of avionics systems and components as assigned
Familiar with aircraft models and types prior to engaging in assigned job tasks
Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on aircraft
Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Understand and apply applicable safety procedures
Work well with avionics-related tools
Possess a professional, responsive, respectful, positive work attitude and a high level of commitment to on-time performance
Perform additional duties as assigned
Minimum Education, Experience and Certifications
High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) equivalent
Obtain or show initiative to work towards obtaining an AME License with an “E” rating
Must be able to obtain and maintain any applicable transportation security clearances and additional authorizations
Indigenous and Cultural Awareness Training considered an asset
Working Conditions
Physically able to perform all listed job duties
Travel by aircraft and other means as required by role
Work in a shop environment with full range of movement including, but not limited to, bending, sitting, standing, lifting to a maximum of 50lbs, pushing and pulling daily
Work performed both indoors and outdoors; employee must be able to adapt to all outdoor weather conditions
Various shifts at a fast pace in order to meet service level requirements of the airline
