What You’ll Be Doing
Duties and Responsibilities:
Deliver trench safety equipment (shoring, shielding and road plate) to and from customer jobsites.
Load and unload trench safety equipment; secure loaded equipment per company procedure and inspect in transit if necessary.
Complete thorough and accurate daily pre-inspections and post-inspections, regulatory logs and timesheets. Check gas, oil and other fluid levels.
Secure customer signature on contract, if not already signed. Inform supervisor of difficulties with deliveries or pickups.
Inform management of new sales opportunities and job sites.
Double check delivered items to make sure customers receive exactly what they ordered.
Communicate with dispatch if behind schedule, so customers may be notified
Maintain accurate delivery and pickup records.
If equipment is missing or broken upon pick up fill out the appropriate forms and get customer’s signature. Turn in these forms to Branch Manager, along with pick up sheets.
Inspect returned equipment, red tag, and cycle through the service workflow (rotate equipment from the wash bay to the service bay to prep and paint, and back into the service line).
Communicate damage to Branch Manager right away for work order management.
Keep the truck in clean and professional condition at all times.
What You’ll Bring to the Team
Qualifications and Requirements:
Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean or satisfactory driver’s abstract (no more than three demerit points). You will be required to provide a copy of your updated driver’s abstract upon request.
Experience with operation, load securement and transportation of heavy-duty construction equipment or material on flat-bed trucks is required.
Experience operating forklifts and other machinery is an asset.
Comfortable with working outdoors year-round and driving in varying weather / road conditions.
Comfortable with city driving
Physical stamina and ability to stand for long periods. Must be able to lift approximately 50 lbs.
Highly safety-focused and professional; take pride in your vehicle and your responsibility as a driver.
Available and willing to work overtime when required and on an on-call rotation if required.
Flexibility; must be comfortable with managing and adapting to multiple changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
Excellent problem-solving and organization skills.
Strong team-player with effective communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with customers and colleagues.
Self-starter and able to work independently with minimal supervision as well as with a team.
