We are currently looking for dedicated Welders who will be responsible for a variety of welding related duties in a service orientated environment. This position is based in the Fort McMurray Oil Sands region at the Fort McKay Shop. This position will work a 14x14, 12-hour continuous shift rotation. Job Description: Major Job Functions: Ensure jobs are planned, organized and all required parts and tooling are accessible Minimize downtime and maintain production requirements as scheduled Examine and diagnose machine defects, repair damage and cracks when necessary Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment Maintain safe work practices Assist in training, directing and development of team members on the job Other work assigned as required Qualifications & Experience: Journeyperson Welder Technician Certification Certified in Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) CWB tickets will be considered an asset Individual will be highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment Ability to work well under pressure Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing will be necessary for successful candidacy Line boring experience will be considered an asset Previous field experience will be considered an asset Notes: This position is located at our Fort McKay branch on a 14x14 continuous shift (camp provided) Any future shift changes will be made in accordance with the collective agreement.
