What’s the Opportunity?
The Senior Manager, Business Continuity Management, is a hands-on leader and plays a critical role in strengthening RBC’s operational resilience to transform how Business Continuity Risk is managed. You are responsible for leading a team and executing Personal Banking and Commercial Banking Canada’s Business Continuity Risk Management (BCRM) program requirements, working to ensure business impact analysis, business continuity plans and strategies can withstand, respond to, and recover from disruptive events in line with OSFI’s E-21 Guideline: Operational Risk and Resilience and other related guidelines.
What will you do?
Provide BCRM subject matter expertise, working directly with Business Units to ensure adherence to the BCRM Enterprise policy and standards
Ensure the timely completion of robust Business Impact Analysis and Business Continuity Plans; assisting in documenting recovery strategies, dependencies and workarounds
Execute BIA's to support complex teams or volumes; as required
Design effective reporting to monitor business unit recovery time and point objectives, dependencies, potential vulnerabilities, and single points of failure
Support testing that validate plans, assumptions and workarounds annually
Support the Director to prepare reporting, compile audit materials and regulatory responses
Support the design and delivery of training content to ensure proper understanding of Business Continuity risk, roles and responsibilities across both segments
Ensure regulatory requirements and expectations are complied with
What you need to succeed?
Must- have
University degree, or equivalent
Solid understanding of operational risk
7+ years of progressive experience in executing Business Continuity Risk Management, Operational Risk or Internal Audit in the financial services industry, including implementing appropriate strategies to mitigate risk
Sound understanding of key regulatory frameworks: OSFI’s B-10, B-13, and E-21
Experienced People Leader with demonstrated ability to lead through influence, build trusted partnerships and deliver across diverse stakeholders
Strong critical thinking skills, with the ability to independently recognize problems, propose solutions and execute on them
Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio)
Strong program management skills with the ability to independently create and execute detailed workback plans
Effective communication and presentation skills
Effective collaboration and active listening skills
Experience working in a complex, matrix environment and proactively managing a diverse set of stakeholders
