What is the opportunity?
The Special Loans and Advisory Services (SLAS) group manages RBC’s high-risk portfolio of commercial and wholesale loans, with a mandate to minimize losses to RBC, while retaining clients wherever possible.
The Associate Director, will join as a member of the Operations & Management Information Systems team, supporting the Director with various aspects of financial reporting, project management, and risk management responsibilities and other key aspects of the job defined in the following sections.
What will you do?
Provide insightful portfolio reporting metrics to senior executives and other business partners
Assist in the development of operating guidelines that leverage the enterprise framework (finance memos, lending and risk policies, etc.) to drive consistency and a disciplined approach to the SLAS portfolio
Implement effective process and technology solutions to provide reporting that is timely and accurate for various risk and financial metrics
Assist with SLAS Audit and Regulatory disclosures
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have:
CA/ MBA/ CFA or equivalent with emphasis in finance or economics
3+ years of experience in financial industry with a firm understanding of various loan and credit adjudication systems, as well as the credit fulfilment process
Self-motivated, and capable of working with minimal direction
Excellent command of Excel (e.g., building financial models, working with large data sets, etc.)
Nice-to-have
Financial Performance Management or Business Intelligence reporting experience
Commercial or corporate lending experience
Strong technology experience, with exposure to SQL and Microsoft Access
