Position Summary Reporting directly to the Head of Treasury, the Senior Treasury Manager is responsible for leading Squadron Energy's treasury operations, spearheading strategic financial initiatives, and optimising the company's capital structure while ensuring comprehensive risk management. This position oversees high-level cash and asset management, delivers complex financial analyses, and provides strategic advice to executive leadership. Additionally, the Senior Treasury Manager leads cross-functional projects and collaborates with senior stakeholders to support Squadron Energy's ongoing growth and financial stability. Key Responsibilities Risk Management: Design and implement advanced risk management frameworks, including hedging strategies for FX, interest rates, and commodities. Policy & Compliance: Set and review treasury policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with regulatory and internal standards. Energy Retail and wholesale: manage cash flows, prudential requirements, bank guarantees, billings and settlements relating to the energy markets business. Treasury Technology: Lead the adoption and optimization of treasury management systems and digital tools. Cross-Functional Leadership: Drive treasury input into the Customer & Energy Markets retail and wholesale implementation, project finance, and major corporate initiatives Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, control, and value creation. Financial Forecasting: Produce accurate financial forecasts and implement effective strategies to ensure Squadron Energy is financially efficient and operationally profitable. Compliance: Ensure compliance with internal controls, regulatory requirements, and financing documents related to treasury operations. Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments to align cash management strategies with business objectives and operational requirements. Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on cash position, forecasts, and treasury activities to senior management and the board. Analysis: Analyse financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement in cash management practices. Hedging: Working with the Capital Markest and Investment Team to monitor and manage hedging arrangements (FX and interest rate). Skills and experience Experience and knowledge A minimum of 7 years' experience as a treasury manager. Experience in the set up and management of the Treasury function to support the Energy Markets Experience in managing Project Financing Experience in energy market derivatives Working understanding of Electronic Banking set up and administration. Cash Management experience across a significant number of bank accounts. Solid understanding of Treasury accounting standards. Proficiency in treasury management software (e.g. SAP, Oracle) Strong analytical skills for financial data interpretation and forecasting In-depth knowledge of financial markets Qualifications Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or a similar field. Current membership of the Certified Practising Accountants of Australia or the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia (desirable).
