Position Overview
Everwild Canmore is seeking a Front of House Manager for Rhythm & Howl and Elements Lounge. The successful candidate will have experience with and be passionate about fantastic dining experiences and great food and drink, building fun and high achieving teams that unite the front and back of house, and want to build something special with us in Canmore. We're seeking a hands-on leader that will work alongside our team and make sure that every guest has an exceptional dining and property experience.
The ideal candidate has a minimum of 5 years related experience and loves to lead great teams. One of the follow certifications will be considered an asset, WSET Level 2, Certified Sommelier and/ or ISG (International Sommelier Guild) certification.
Salary: $75,000 - $85,000
Shifts: Full-time, Permanent
Location: Canmore
Accommodation: Subsidized temporary housing is available
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Experience
Ensure guests are greeted and seated promptly
Monitor service quality and guest satisfaction
Handle complaints and resolve issues diplomatically
Maintain ambiance, cleanliness, and comfort in the dining area
- Staff Leadership
Hire, train, and supervise FOH staff (hosts, servers, bartenders)
Create steps of service and ensure they are followed
Maintain elevated service standards
Create and manage staff schedules
Conduct team meetings and performance evaluations
Motivate staff and foster a positive work environment
- Operational Oversight
Coordinate with kitchen and bar teams for smooth service flow
Manage reservations, waitlists, and table turnover
Create curated wine and drink lists
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulation
Order and manage all beverage inventories
Monitor and manage inventory of FOH supplies (menus, linens, etc.)
- Financial & Administrative Duties
Assist with budgeting and cost control
Track labour costs and manage staffing levels efficiently
Report on service metrics and customer feedback
Support POS system management and cash handling procedures
- Sales & Promotions
Encourage upselling and suggestive selling
Implement and oversee special events or promotions
Analyze customer feedback to improve service and offerings
Requirements
Minimum 5 years experience in food & beverage or hospitality management, with hotel or destination dining experience considered an asset.
Strong leadership skills with proven ability to hire, train, and motivate high-performing teams.
Hands-on management style with a focus on delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Knowledge of both front-of-house and back-of-house operations, including service standards, reservations, and beverage programs.
Experience with POS systems, scheduling, budgeting, and inventory management.
Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills; able to remain calm under pressure.
Sommelier or beverage certification (WSET Level 2, Certified Sommelier, or ISG) considered an asset.
Passion for hospitality, food, and beverage, with a commitment to creating memorable, locally inspired dining experiences.
