The Communications Intern plays a key role providing day-to-day support for the Communications team, with some flexibility to support other members of the Global Sustainability team. This role is for a 4 month contract with a possibility of extension and the hourly rate for this position is $21.99 to $25.07 depending on the current term-year of the selected candidate. Job Description: Major Job Functions: Story Development: Work with the communications team to track down story details needed for internal or external stories. This may involve meeting with and interviewing Finning individual contributors and leaders, or conducting online research. Draft and edit story content for internal or external stories. Support the development of the weekly Traction Roundup newsletter by compiling submissions, editing copy, laying out the newsletter or finding photos/videos for publication. Provide accurate and timely responses to project requests. Safeguard confidentiality of projects, meetings, and sensitive information at all times. Represent Finning ethically and professionally in all interactions with internal and external stakeholders. Administrative Tasks: Support the maintenance of the Finning intranet called Traction by adding, deleting or updating content or pages on the site. Consult with internal stakeholders to review Traction page content and ensure pages are updated and accurate. Planning and presentations: Assist in organizing meetings, events, and learning sessions that align with communications’ goals. Support the development of presentation material related to internal and external communications. Data & Reporting: Track participation, feedback, and outcomes of communications initiatives. Prepare reports for leadership on communication program impact and opportunities. Education & Experience: Enrolled in a communications, journalism or broadcast program at a post-second institution. Specific Skills: Organize tasks, manage deadlines, and ensure accuracy across projects. Communicate clearly with diverse teams and stakeholders. Prioritize and multitask effectively in fast-paced environments. Work independently, demonstrating initiative and adaptability. Build strong relationships and collaborate across teams. Deliver high-quality writing and editing with strong command of English. Create engaging presentations that convey relevant and actionable information.
