Title: Shift Supervisor, Joists
Location: 292109 Prime Close, Rocky View County, AB
Shift: 6 :00 am – 2:30 pm
Job Overview,
Reporting to the Production Manager as the Shift Supervisor, Joists you support the Production Manager with product quality, health and safety, maintaining the production schedule, organizing people and product, and providing guidance and training to the production team.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Supervising staff and truss production, ensuring daily activities comply with operational standards for production, productivity, quality, and customer service.
- Organizing, monitoring, and maintaining workflow and work processes, identifying opportunities for process improvement and increased efficiency.
- Setting and monitoring KPI’s, personnel, and resources. Researching best-practices and emerging methods to implement cost reductions.
- Initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Communicating, appraising, coaching, counseling, enacting disciplinary measures, and job expectations to staff, appraising job results to achieve assigned manufacturing results and performance standards.
- Initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, production standards, policies, and procedures to maintain quality.
- Ensuring equipment is maintained and operating in good order, reporting breakdowns and/or repairs to support planning.
- Maintaining a safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on equipment, resources, and maintaining compliance with established Star policies.

Essential Requirements
- Completion of High School Diploma.
- Minimum 5 years of experience within truss/wall panel/joist production.
- Physically able to kneel and crouch as well as lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable using office equipment and Microsoft Office programs (Outlook, Word, Access, Teams, SharePoint and PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in First Aid and Forklift (truck) License are an asset.
- Knowledge of BisTrack, Site Docs and warehouse management system are an asset.
- Previous manufacturing experience in a supervisory role is preferred.

Working Conditions
You primarily work in the yard/production facility dealing with an outdoor environment. Work has exposure to noise and wood dust from equipment/machinery and exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
