Executive Chef, Mobilization and Field Support – Unidine Canada
At Unidine Canada, we believe that culinary leadership is not just about food, it’s about vision, innovation, and impact. Our Executive Chef, Mobilization and Field Support is a strategic culinary leader responsible for driving innovation, operational excellence, and team development across Unidine Canada. This role sets high standards for quality and consistency while supporting new account openings, field operations, and culinary program execution for this exciting new retirement living brand as part of the Compass Group Canada portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:
Trend Leadership: Use E15 insights and industry research to identify emerging food trends. Develop data-driven, innovative menus aligned with brand standards.
Program Development: Design creative culinary programs that balance innovation with operational feasibility. Foster collaboration and experimentation within the team.
Training & Development: Build comprehensive training systems tailored to team skill levels, incorporating hands-on learning and mentorship.
Team Leadership: Manage and support Site Chefs, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Provide guidance on menu development, cost control, and culinary trends.
Menu Management: Champion adoption and compliance of menu management platforms to streamline operations and maintain consistency.
Sales & Growth Support: Partner with Sales & Growth teams on proposals and presentations. Represent Unidine Canada at industry events to showcase culinary excellence.
Additional Duties:
Supports onboarding of new Culinary Managers, to understand Unidine Canada’s Executional Framework Standards and established food programs.
Works with culinary managers to meet or exceed account targets for food cost, retail sales, resident satisfaction, and client satisfaction.
Provide support for new account openings and/or renovations where needed.
Communicates effectively with leadership and attends monthly Regional Executive Chef (REC) conference calls and webinars.
Read and comply with all policies and procedures of Compass Group Canada.
Support Culinary Managers with all matters related to culinary functions in the accounts.
Qualifications:
Proven leadership and management skills with strong client relationship experience.
Expertise in financial systems, menu cost engineering, and operational compliance.
Excellent communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office and culinary software platforms.
Associate degree in culinary arts or management preferred; minimum 5 years progressive BOH management experience.
Certifications: ADFS, Allergen; Red Seal.
Hands-on approach with commitment to safety, hospitality excellence, and resident satisfaction.
Experience integrating AI tools for workflow optimization is an asset.
