Job Description
The Assistant Manager of Inventory Control is responsible assisting the team in delivering the accounting/administrative responsibilities for Farm Boy Distribution. The performance of the duties must ensure a quality service approach to all employees, customers and suppliers. All responsibilities must be performed in a manner consistent with the Farm Boy Way.
Major Responsibilities:
Responsible for Central Kitchen Invoicing Analysis, including break down and input entries.
Responsible for the scanning of outgoing products to stores daily.
Support inventory control for all facets of the facility, including production, and warehouse.
Responsible for Central Kitchen inventory control and for the incoming and outgoing cycle counts.
Review all Central Kitchen invoices and verify supplier costs and notify the Plan Manager and Product Development of changes/discrepancies.
Input inventory counts and update item listing for new recipe requirements.
Input recipe ingredients on the Kitchen Transfer Pricing system (Nutrigen).
Pull and generate costing for ingredients based on recipes.
Review all coding and receiving for Central Production Invoicing.
Provide Financial analysis as needed to the Central Controller.
Work with Central Kitchen Managers and provide relevant financial information.
Investigate discrepancies from any receives vs. invoicing.
Effective and timely communication on supply related issues such as shortages, damages and rotation issues.
Monitor monthly product expiry and communicate with management and procurement in regards to close dated products.
Handle all internal inquiries related to Central Kitchen inventory and costing.
Ensure all necessary paperwork is forwarded within proper deadlines for processing.
Process and verify invoicing.
Maintain and update daily/weekly logs.
May be required to undertake other related duties on a periodic basis.
Qualifications
Typically requires completion of a post-secondary degree, plus a minimum of 2 years of warehouse management, administration, or inventory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong computer skills with specific experience in AccPac and Excel
Experience in the food industry and or production environment would be considered an asset.
Solid communication and organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to multi-task and practice proactive problem solving.
Ability to work well both independently and as a team member and ability to work from directives with little supervision.
Must be familiar with warehouse activities and surroundings.
Superior standards of cleanliness and service.
Superior time management and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
Work & Sensory Environment:
Unavoidable exposure to dangerous or unpleasant environmental elements such as noise, dirt, dust, vibration and extreme temperatures.
Prolonged exposure to cool, damp working conditions.
Required to lift, carry and/or handle heavy objects.
Required to stand for extended periods of time while performing production work.
Repetitive bending and twisting movements are required.
