Job Description: Position Summary Supervise and analyze the current operational execution of road maintenance contracts in Canada, in order to identify, plan, propose, support and lead, if necessary, the implementation of timely operational improvement actions aimed at increasing the profitability of the contracts, transferring the operational best practices from the different markets where the company already operates similar services. Primary Duties and Responsibilities Oversee the current operation of the road maintenance contract. Identify, plan, propose, support and lead, the implementation of timely operational improvement actions aimed at obtaining a quality, efficient and profitable service. Understand and handle the contractual documents of road contracts, as well as the regulations of application. Provide guidance and ensure effective communication in connection with the organization’s improvement plan to be implemented by contract management personnel, in order to ensure the best involvement in their different roles. Perform the proper follow-up of the implemented actions, their concretion in the organization and their integration in the daily operative of the contract. Support project team, in the contact, negotiation and improvement of existing agreements with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring that the purchase is carried out in an appropriate and efficient manner. Monitor contract and project compliance with the company’s policies and procedures in relation to legal, financial, safety and administration matters. Provide input into the development, review, negotiation and implementation of subcontractor and supplier agreements in order to gain the best possible return for the contract. Ensure relevant information is provided regarding the execution, evolution, development and future of the business, monitoring its progress in accordance with established objectives. Developing and maintaining a relationship with the customer reflects a partnership approach and demonstrates sound understanding of the customer’s needs. Develop a customer service culture throughout the project. Effectively resolves problems and concerns of the client. Carry out all duties in line with Company policies and procedures as amended from time to time. Monitors Rehabilitation activities to ensure that goals or objectives of the project are accomplished, to include O & M Manual development, design review, planning, and facility/system acceptance following renewal/rehabilitation. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Advanced knowledge of asset management within facility maintenance, repairs, and operations. be able to adapt to a constantly changing environment. Must be able to negotiate, coordinate and plan effectively. The incumbent must possess strong analytical and communication skills. A well organized, self-directed individual with the ability to provide strong leadership, possess the ability to manage and organize multiple priorities, maintain a significant customer focus and positive customer service attitude. Standard MS Office software proficiency to include Microsoft word, excel, access and project. This position requires a highly developed sense of safety awareness and perceptive ability. Must have the ability to recognize hazards inherent in routine and non-routine tasks and make adjustments to avoid loss, injury or accident. Must be able to communicate with co-workers’ safety instructions. You must be able to think clearly and focus on your safety in your immediate surroundings, while using tools and equipment, while driving or operating equipment. Will be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate to your job. As a supervisor, you are required to lead by example; encourage co-workers and supervised employees to correctly use PPE; follow proper safety rules of conduct, take appropriate corrective actions, including the initiation of disciplinary action to enforce the use and observance of PPE and safety rules within your area of supervised responsibility. Must be willing and able to meet any specific project contractual obligation. Education and Experience Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, preferably specializing in transport, urban services and civil construction (preferred) or equivalent, relevant work experience. Experience in leading road maintenance department teams Work Conditions/Physical Demands Approximately 50% performed in climate-controlled internal office environment under normal office conditions, with 50% travel to field locations.
