The Operations Supervisor leads and supports afternoon shift activities across production, shipping, receiving, and material handling. This role ensures safe, efficient, and reliable execution of daily operations while maintaining alignment with BE’s standards, KPIs, and process expectations.
This position acts as the primary point of leadership during the afternoon shift, ensuring work progresses smoothly across departments, issues are escalated appropriately, and teams remain focused, aligned, and accountable.
Leadership & Workforce Management
Lead, coach, train, and develop Leads and frontline employees across all operational areas.
Ensure staffing, task assignments, and shift activities align with daily and weekly operational plans.
Drive accountability for productivity, attendance, performance standards, and adherence to SOPs.
Operational Execution
Oversee daily production output, shipping accuracy, receiving timeliness, and material movement.
Monitor progress against shift targets and KPIs; take corrective action where needed.
Ensure documentation accuracy within ERP, logs, checklists, and operational reporting tools.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
Maintain a clean, safe, well-organized working environment.
Enforce safety standards, PPE compliance, and incident reporting protocols.
Partner with quality to ensure processes are followed and nonconformances are addressed promptly.
Continuous Improvement & Problem-Solving
Identify bottlenecks, waste, and inefficiencies; develop solutions aligned to lean principles.
Support rollout of new processes, SOPs, equipment, and operational initiatives.
Lead daily shift huddles to drive alignment, communication, and improvement focus.
Communication & Reporting
Serve as the senior point of contact for afternoon operations.
Escalate equipment, staffing, safety, or operational concerns to the Operations Manager as required.
Complete end-of-shift reports summarizing output, staffing, issues, and priorities.
Administrative Responsibilities
Support scheduling, onboarding, coaching documentation, performance check-ins, and timecard approvals.
Participate in recruitment, interviews, and skill assessments when required.
What we are looking for in a successful candidate:
Minimum 4 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or warehouse environment.
Proven ability to lead and influence people at various skill levels.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple operational areas simultaneously.
Demonstrated experience in problem-solving, root cause thinking, and accountability culture.
Proficiency in MS Office; ERP system experience preferred (Syspro asset).
Forklift/material handling equipment certification or experience is an asset.
Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs regularly and working in a hands-on environment.
Strong safety mindset with demonstrated commitment to compliance and workplace standards.
