POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for:
Installing, maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment
Providing support in facility related projects and preventative maintenance tasks
Following and complying with Cube Management Systems (CMS)
Key Responsibilities
Injection Molding Machinery
Diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic, hybrid, and electric injection molding machines.
Troubleshoot issues related to hydraulic circuits, pumps, valves, leaks, pressures, and actuators.
Identify and repair electrical faults, including sensors, relays, heaters, thermocouples, limit switches, and safety interlocks.
Maintain and repair clamp systems, ejector systems, platen alignment, tie-bars, lubrication systems, and mechanical wear components.
Perform preventative maintenance (PM) inspections and complete required documentation.
Inspect and maintain barrel assemblies, heater bands, wiring, and cooling channels.
Robotics & Automation
Troubleshoot and repair 3-axis sprue pickers and 6-axis industrial robots (e.g., Fanuc, ABB, Yaskawa, Wittmann, Yushin).
Perform adjustments and repairs to end-of-arm tooling (EOAT)
Diagnose robot I/O issues and perform minor program edits for recovery
Maintain and troubleshoot downstream automation equipment such as conveyors, separators, and handling systems
Auxiliary Equipment (asset)
Inspect and repair water, air, and vacuum lines associated with molding operations.
Maintain and troubleshoot:
• Resin dryers and loaders
• Blenders
• Grinders
• Temperature control units (TCUs)
• Chillers
• Hot runner temperature controllers
General Maintenance
Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, wiring diagrams, and hydraulic schematics.
Perform mechanical repairs using machine tools such as grinders, drill presses, and lathes (as required).
Follow all safety rules, SOPs, and lockout/tagout procedures.
Report hazards, irregularities, or unsafe conditions to the Supervisor immediately.
Support facility-related maintenance tasks as assigned.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Skills/ Experience
Industrial Maintenance Mechanic (Millwright) license or Industrial Electrician an asset
Minimum 2–5 years of experience maintaining injection molding machinery in a manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of hydraulics, pneumatics, and electrical systems.
Experience maintaining robotics and automation equipment.
Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical and electrical faults independently.
Familiarity with computerized machinery and machine controls.
Ability to read and interpret general technical documents, schematics, and manuals.
Good manual dexterity and ability to work to exacting standards.
Physical strength and stamina for working around heavy industrial equipment.
Effective verbal communication and teamwork skills.
Equipment experience with any of the following is an asset:
Injection Molding Machines: Engel, Husky, Milacron, Arburg, Nissei, Sumitomo Demag
Hot Runner Systems: Mold-Masters, Husky
Robotics: Fanuc, ABB, Yushin, Wittmann
Auxiliary Equipment: Piovan, Matsui, Novatec, etc.
