SaskEnergy is seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join our team. The Quality Assurance Technologist performs various duties associated with the repair, calibration, testing and final inspection of primary and secondary gas measurement equipment. This includes the provision of, support services to shop and field staff for all metering equipment and associated products, to ensure conformance to SaskEnergy’s Quality Assurance Program, Standard Practice Instructions and Measurement Canada criteria. Position Details Union - This position is temporary full time for up to 12 months. Core Responsibilities Quality Assurance Organize and participate in the repair, testing, calibration and final inspection services performed on primary and secondary measurement devices, test equipment and associated devices. Implement and participate in re-verification and preventative maintenance programs for shop test equipment and associated devices. Participate in the development and review of standard practices and quality assurance procedures for the repair, calibration, testing, final inspection and maintenance of measurement devices, test equipment and associated devices. Participate and provide support to personnel from both Measurement Canada and SaskEnergy in the inspection and auditing processes. Perform periodic audits to ensure standards, procedures and the requirements of the Quality Assurance Program are being followed. Assess and provide recommendations for Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) software upgrades and assist with the delivery of approved upgrades. Technical Support Participate in the evaluation, installation and commissioning services performed on new and existing primary and secondary measurement devices, AMI devices, test equipment and associated devices. Provide technical support and training on quality assurance, quality control initiatives, measurement equipment and AMI services/products. Provide technical support to various internal & external departments/agencies, to resolve AMI conflicts/issues. Research, evaluate and recommend innovative solutions to overcome equipment failures and limitations. Perform other shop and field assignments as required. Participating in presentations, special purpose teams, task forces, process improvement groups and technical exhibits. Administration Maintain and update departmental quality records, equipment certification schedules, calibration and final inspection records. Provide ongoing monitoring of AMI network/installs to ensure that the AMI solution is on-track. Monitor inventory and parts stock for all measurement, test equipment, AMI products and associated devices. Maintain measurement equipment repair databases and tracking systems. Assist with the preparation of Operating/Capital budgets to ensure efficient delivery of measurement related products and services. Qualifications Education Grade 12 or equivalent. Engineering Technology Diploma (Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical or Mechanical), from a recognized institution. Eligible for membership with Saskatchewan Applied Science Technicians and Technologists (SASTT). Valid Class 5 driver’s license (copy must accompany job applications). Experience Four (4) years’ experience in repair and calibration of equipment. Additional Information This job is subject to callout situations. Travel, including overnight stays away from bid headquarters is required.
