Responsible for the development and execution of a Project Risk Governance program at RBC which includes the identification, assessment, monitoring and reporting of risks on the individual projects within our portfolio to improve execution governance and value realization in alignment with Enterprise Project Policy and Standards Work closely with the Portfolio team and Delivery partners to address data issues and exercise execution assurance activities. In addition to supporting ongoing PMO activities, this role will partner with various stakeholders to develop, implement, and support key initiatives Leads and performs project monitoring and oversight to evaluate that project risk key controls (Delivery, Future State and Investment Risk attributes) are in place and operating effectively per policies/standards which enables identification of projects “at risk” requiring attention, decisions and remediation activities from project Sponsors Leads the assessment, address, and escalation of “at risk” projects identified by PV SaaS/KRI metrics for remediation to Sponsor/Executive/IRB and conduct required independent health checks with action plans to course correct Acts as Platform liaison with RBC Enterprise CoE/CoG(s) and Business/Functional Units to effectively integrate/educate project sponsors/stakeholders/practitioners on required Enterprise processes policy & standards/ modifications/ best practices to ensure strong governance & quality principles Collaborate with our Administrator for Planview SaaS and evolve the use of tool for RBC Sponsored reporting and evolve key activities and practices including but not limited to, benefits tracking, monthly financial reporting, status reporting, artifacts management, Enterprise Initiative Management Framework alignment, etc Management oversight, engagement, and design requirements for the Initiative Delivery Hub (IDH) including the IDH Webex moderators and IDH Webex chat Lead the Quarterly Sub-PMO (SPMO) Forum comprised of the Digital, Caribbean and RBC Bank SPMO’s ensuring timely PRG and PPMO updates, adherence to mandated responsibilities and collaboration/leverage of best practices and other information as required Leadership and Relationship Management Conduct regular assessments of the requirements progress on projects against the business objectives Ensure team and stakeholders have knowledge of the enterprise standard requirements methodology Enable others to work collaboratively across functional groups by establishing and maintaining a culture of trust and shared vision Present ideas, solicit input, negotiate compromise, influence decisions, and garner support of senior level executives and/or initiative stakeholders Effectively communicate and build rapport with Portfolio Management, Project Risk Governance (PRG), SPMO’s, other RBC PMO’s and PB PMO Community of Practice Enhance skills and build knowledge in all aspects of the organization What do you need to succeed? Must-Have: Over 5 years’ experience as a Project Manager/Scrum Master/Product Owner, with knowledge and experience in project management frameworks Ability to thrive in a fluid and dynamic environment with excellent organizational skills Experience working with project planning and tracking tools such as Planview and collaboration tools such as LeanKit, Confluence, Jira, Webex Teams, MURAL, etc Exceptional writing, editing, and presentation skills; strong knowledge of PowerPoint, Excel, and Word Strong knowledge and application of project risk policy, standards, and governance requirements Self-starter, comfortable thinking through disparate processes, systems, solutions, and areas to leverage enterprise linkages to support successful change Results based approach, able to work independently as well as exceptional team player and able to deliver results by building strong relationships with stakeholders Strategic Mindset: Ability to think broadly about data & insights Nice to Have: PMP or prior PMO experience Post-secondary degree in data management, business-, or business-related studies Advanced Excel and data analysis proficiency, with experience in building and maintaining reporting dashboards Experience with visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or Smartsheet) Knowledge of Agile values, principles, and frameworks, familiarity with Business Agility Ability to design polished slide decks or leadership updates for senior audiences What’s in it for you?
