This is a great opportunity to work under the leadership of our quantitative teams within Risk Management and Internal Audit. As a QRP Associate, you will be provided with the opportunity to gain comprehensive experiences in developing, validating, implementing, managing and auditing various types of models. You’ll be part of a two-year program that consists of four, six-month rotations through various quantitative departments within CIBC that will provide you with the necessary experience and exposure to become an effective leader. During your rotations, you will be part of the Quantitative Risk, Model Quantification and Model Validation within Risk Management, Model Risk teams within our Internal Audit department. Once you have successfully completed the program, you will be assisted in securing a permanent role, preferably in one of the quantitative departments you worked with during your rotations. As a QRP Associate, you will be part of a team that focuses on designing tools and reports to make the analysis process more efficient and streamlined. You’ll have an opportunity to prepare management summaries describing the mathematical analytics of models, validation techniques, test results, and model limitations, including recommendations for further improvements. You’ll perform, analyze and document the calibration and parametrization of the models used, define and monitor controls to ensure the appropriateness of the parameters used along with running back testing for models and analyze the impact of model behavior on risk management measures, as well as the impact of changes in capital from the model performance and how they affect the business. You will also have a chance to assist in the development and testing of new modelling methodologies, and effectively challenge these models through benchmark modelling and model validation. Additionally, we will look to you to provide assurance with respect to governance, the control environment, and compliance with regulatory requirements around model risk management through participating model specific and model governance audits and managing small and less complicated audit assignments and initiatives. Important Information You are a new graduate of a Master’s or PhD degree in related programs e.g. Financial Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, etc. or will graduate from a quantitative Master's or PhD program in 2026.
