Position Overview
We are looking for a highly organized, detail-driven Logistics Coordinator to manage daily outbound freight for our operations in Shelburne, Ontario. This is a 100% onsite position, working Monday to Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with occasional later days during peak season or urgent shipping needs.
You will coordinate shipments across Manitoba, parts of Saskatchewan, and Calgary, using SAP, TMS tools, Outlook, PC Miler, and mapping software to book carriers, build loads, and support same-day shipping requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate all inbound and outbound freight and book trucks with carriers.
Create shipments in SAP/dispatch systems and generate accurate shipping documents (BOLs, customs, freight charges, transfers).
Optimize loads, assign carriers, track deliveries, and monitor railcar pipeline, detention, and demurrage.
Communicate proactively with sales, operations, carriers, and customers regarding delays, issues, or changes to shipping schedules.
Resolve service-related issues including claims, paperwork discrepancies, permits, and Transport Canada requirements.
Audit freight invoices, dispute errors, and assist with freight quotes and carrier expansion.
Use mapping tools (Google Maps, PC Miler) to support routing and same-day shipping.
Perform all duties in accordance with safety codes, regulations, and Stella-Jones policies.
Carry out additional tasks as required to support the shipping function.
Qualifications
Grade 12 or equivalent.
3+ years of transportation, or logistics experience.
Strong proficiency in English (written and verbal).
Ability to manage high pressure, shifting priorities, and high-volume workloads.
Excellent attention to detail, strong memory, and accurate data entry skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Experience with SAP (considered an asset)
Ability to work independently.
Strong understanding of truck weight limits, load building, piece counts, and freight requirements.
Solid multitasking, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
