Description
The Government of Canada (GC) is modernizing digital services to provide simple, secure, and efficient access for all Canadians. Cyber security is foundational to this work, ensuring that government operations remain resilient and that digital services keep pace with evolving threats.
To support this mandate, the GC requires professional services resources to assist with Security Assessment & Authorization (SA&A) activities across multiple enterprise-level initiatives. This includes contributing to improved, agile SA&A practices, advancing “assess once, reuse often” principles, and supporting a shift from compliance-driven processes to risk-based, secure-by-design approaches such as threat modelling and DevSecOps.
The Contractor will provide IT security risk management services, including SA&A support for major GC initiatives, cyber security advisory services for digital projects, and contributions to GC-wide improvements to SA&A processes and governance.
Client Preferences:
The hiring team is seeking a candidate with strong hands-on practitioner experience performing SA&A activities, especially the detailed work involved in updating documentation, managing POA&Ms, maintaining traceability matrices, and completing control-level assessments.
They prefer someone with greater Federal Government experience, particularly in operational SA&A execution.
They value experience with design and process improvement, but this is secondary to hands-on delivery.
Need someone who is comfortable executing the detailed, practitioner-level activities.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $800.00 - $850.00/hr.
