Job Summary
The Team Lead, Scrum Master is a player-coach who both leads the Scrum practice for a specific product or group of teams while also providing direct guidance and mentorship to a small group of Scrum Masters. This role bridges hands-on facilitation and formal people leadership ensuring agile practices are applied consistently across squads and represented in product planning. The Team Lead, Scrum Master is responsible for the overall health and performance of their assigned teams and plays a key role in shaping the organization's agile maturity.
Duties & Responsibilities
Serve as the Scrum Master for a critical, cross-functional squad.
Recruit, hire, lead, and coach a small group of Scrum Master, including performance feedback and career development.
Represent agile delivery in product planning with Product Design Leads and Product Owners.
Collaborate with Product and Technology leadership to ensure alignment on strategy and delivery.
Standardize agile practices across squads (definition of done, estimation, intake processes.
Own cross-squad coordination, dependency management and impediment resolution for complex organizational changes.
Establish and monitor delivery health matrics across squads.
Lead communities of practice to share knowledge and improve agile maturity.
Contribute to the development and implementation of the organization's agile roadmap to deliver capability improvements.
Govern agile tooling and reporting standards (Jira dashboards).
Actively participate in Porter’s Safety Management System (SMS) including, reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations; understand, comply and promote the Company Safety Policy

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in a related field, required
7+ years of progressive experience as a Scrum Master, with a track record of leading complex product initiatives, required
Advanced Scrum Master certification (i.e. A-CSM, PSM II), required
Proven ability to mentor and guide less experienced Scrum Masters.
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills at an organizational level.
Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience leading agile transformations in a large enterprise, an asset
