This position is responsible for the maintenance and reliability of manufacturing equipment and assets, performs various routine tasks related to maintenance, adherence and observance to Company Policies and Regulation.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Responds to production service calls (troubleshooting equipment issues) in a timely fashion to reduce machine downtime
- Attends to assigned work order requests
- Performs scheduled routine equipment daily inspection, scheduled preventative and corrective maintenance including machine overhauls and repairs
- Initiates continuous improvement projects
- Performs general building maintenance (e.g. lights, Doors)
- Performs work in accordance to established processes and practices
- Respects company rules, regulations and policies
- Be aware of all health & safety instructions and policies
- Performs other related work and special projects as required
Job Duties:
- Install, maintain and repair rollforming, blanking, slitting, brake folders, power shears and other sheet metal forming machinery to ensure efficient production of high-quality metal roofing products.
- Install, maintain and repair hydraulic and pneumatic equipment such as clutch and brake systems, hydraulic shears.
- Install, align, dismantle, and relocate industrial machinery and equipment such as pumps, blower fans, tanks, conveyors etc.
- Use hoisting and lifting tools, such as cranes, scissor lift, and forklifts, to position parts and machinery while doing setup, maintenance, inspection, and installation work.
- Repair and overhaul of power transmission systems such as gearboxes, gear and chain couplings, timing belts and bearings.
- Adjust, align and calibrate machinery as required to achieve the desired quality of products.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of equipment or machinery to identify issues requiring overhauls or major repairs.
- Utilize technical expertise and specialized tools to dismantle, troubleshoot, and repair complex mechanical and electrical systems.
- Use electrical schematics to troubleshoot electrical systems.
- Address minor repairs and adjustments promptly to prevent issues from escalating and minimize downtime.
- Use manufacturers' machine manuals to maintain machine standards while troubleshooting, repairing and servicing machines.
- Perform monthly scheduled preventative maintenance and keep all the records of machine maintenance and repairs.
- Comply with all safety regulations and procedures.

Key Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education and experience performing repairs and maintenance
- At least 2 years’ experience in equipment maintenance in a manufacturing industry or equivalent
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics
- Formal electrical education an asset
- Formal Industrial Mechanic / Millwright education required (industrial settings)
- Strong knowledge in electrical drives and controls an asset
- Bilingualism (an asset)
