Out-of-Scope Permanent Full Time Location: This position is based at both the Regina Operations Centre and the Regina Head Office Closes: December 12, 2025 Note: Regular travel between these locations and occasional travel outside the city is required. The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation and management of marketing strategies, promotions and events, focusing on customer experience and supporting brand awareness for SGI, SGI CANADA and its regional operations. In this role you will provide expertise and guidance in connecting business partners' objectives to the benefits of marketing programs, promotions and events. You will conceive, execute, and measure marketing efforts to reach the corporation’s intended audiences and business objectives. You will also manage and lead a multi-disciplinary team with strategic focus in business-to-business (B2B) marketing, advertising, event management, and promotional merchandising. Marketing Delivery Develops, implements, and measures marketing campaigns that generate measurable business results or changes in customer behaviour (e.g. retention, product/service usage, technology adoption). Liaises with internal/external business partners, understanding business objectives, and providing marketing strategy, tactics, direction and rationale. Works with external agencies to deliver on the marketing, design, and research objectives. Researches, recommends, and executes advertising placement and media buying strategies. Prioritizes, coordinates and schedules cross-departmental marketing projects which directly support growth/sales opportunities and business objectives. Reviews and collaborates in the development of project briefs. Participates in project intakes and assigns Marketing resources based on workload and established priorities. Manages marketing, events, and promo resources, project timelines, and team bandwidth to ensure timely and efficient delivery. Ensures compliance with regulatory, brand and consumer protection standards. Market Research & Analytics Analyses market trends leveraging data to drive insights that lead to recommendations of initiatives in line with corporate strategy. Initiates research and development (i.e. market research, competitor product reviews, surveys, etc.) activity to identify new market opportunities or enhance growth/sales. Manages the development of metrics and reporting that measure the effectiveness and efficiency of marketing efforts. Monitors and evaluates customer, industry, marketing and advertising trends; identifies threats and opportunities. Promotions and Events Manages the development and implementation of promotions and events that realize goals set out in the corporation’s business development, brand awareness, marketing and communication strategies. Oversees retail promotional programs and optimizes merchandize sales performance for corporate, Auto Fund, and SGI CANADA in support of marketing campaigns, business development, brand awareness and special events. Develops and implements merchandising, pricing, and promotional strategies. Manages suppliers, inventory, order desk and payments for promotional items. Manages the planning, organization and delivery of special events in support of corporate business development objectives; ensures that events are executed in a professional manner consistent with corporate values. Provides event management for the execution of various broker/broker association events, trade shows and industry meetings, including managing staff, contracting venues, providing hospitality support, and communication support. Offers expertise and recommendations for employee-run events and staff philanthropic activities to support enhanced employee engagement. Manages the receipt, assessment and approval of requests for marketing and promotional materials; prioritizes requests based on corporate objectives. People Leadership Builds a high performing workforce by actively leading human resource activities. Ensures development of divisional succession plans. Builds a culture of leadership and accountability to effectively deliver on strategic and corporate strategies, ensuring integration with employee performance development and career development plans. Corporate Management Ensures programs and policies are in alignment with corporate, strategic and divisional strategies. Manages risk in area of authority. Ensures that the Health, Safety and Emergency Management Policy is applied in area of responsibility, including development, implementation and managing of program components specific to departmental health and safety requirements. Makes decisions for departmental operations that are efficient, effective, and in alignment with strategic direction and priorities. Ensures department and program policies, procedures and guidelines are in compliance with applicable federal and provincial legislation and regulations; implements and evaluates changes to legislation and regulations in area of authority. Establishes and maintains an effective system of internal controls to support reliable financial reporting and compliance in accordance with applicable laws and regulations within the span of control and communicates the importance of internal controls to staff. Education and Experience Four-year degree from an accredited post-secondary institution in a relevant field of study such as marketing or public relations. Eight years of experience comprised of four years leadership experience with progressively challenging responsibility and four years of experience in marketing and promotions. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of marketing principles and best practices. Knowledge of marketing regulations and guidelines across Canada. Knowledge of public relations and publicity techniques, including social media. Knowledge of B2B and B2C distribution channels. Knowledge of marketing research and campaign evaluation methodology. Knowledge of event planning and venue management. Knowledge of change management and project management methodologies and techniques required to plan, manage and execute projects. Knowledge of how financial information contributes to management understanding and decisions. Knowledge of the financial services industry. Skill in marketing and promotional plan development. Skill in developing all types of marketing/sales collateral for various media e.g. print, video, online, social media. Skill in developing proposals and presenting recommendations.
