16-months Aircraft Performance Internship
The Aircraft Performance team is part of our Engineering organization and is responsible for providing certified and operational performance data that defines the overall capabilities of our aircraft. We contribute to the development of new or derivative aircraft and support continued airworthiness of in-service aircraft. The team also actively participates in flight testing activities and closely interacts with regulatory authorities to ensure safety and compliance to airworthiness requirements.
During your internship, you will contribute to:
Generation of aircraft performance data for Flight Manuals (QRH, FCOM, AFM).
Validation and development of performance software tools.
Generation of aircraft performance data for Flight management systems (FMS).
Analysis of flight test or test rig data, if applicable.
Analyses in support of Sales and Marketing campaigns.
During your internship, you will learn:
How to use Perl/Python/Matlab scripting to analyze and visualize aircraft performance data.
How aircraft performance data is used on Bombardier aircraft.
Communication and teamwork in an Engineering office environment.
How to thrive in this role?
You are currently enrolled in the 3rd year of a bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Aerospace) or in Mechanical Engineering, with a minimum equivalent GPA of B+.
You are familiar with concepts in aircraft performance including takeoff, landing, and mission performance.
You possess good programming skills (C#, C++, VBA, Perl, Python, Matlab) and have a working knowledge of the UNIX operating system environment.
You demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
You can work independently and demonstrate initiative to achieve the goals established for you.
You are proficient in written and spoken English.
