Position: Director, Technology Project Delivery

What drives your day-to-day?
- Lead and mature the Technology Project Management Center of Excellence (PMCoE) across the organization.
- Oversee the intake process for all new technology-related projects, ensuring strategic alignment and proper prioritization.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and either direct or dotted-line management to Project Managers (PMs) executing various technology initiatives.
- Act as a hands-on Project Manager for critical or complex projects, taking ownership from initiation to close-out.
- Conduct considerable hands-on problem-solving and information gathering to drive project success and resolve roadblocks.
- Ensure all project documentation is accurate, complete, and maintained within the designated project repositories.
- Maintain and communicate the organizational project calendar, providing visibility into current and upcoming technology deployments.
- Collaborate with internal teams to assess and ensure adequate operational capacity is available to support project deployments and transitions.
- Review, assist, and guide the development of comprehensive project plans, including detailed timelines and resource allocation.
- Develop, or assist in the development of, Organizational Change Management (OCM) plans to ensure smooth technology adoption.
- Support PMs in facilitating successful operational transitions and securing appropriate training for end-users and support staff.
- Report directly to the VP, IMIT, providing regular, accurate, and transparent updates on overall project portfolio status, risks, and health.
- Manage key technology vendor relationships, ensuring accountability and successful delivery of contracted services.
- Assist in the development of project budgets and manage financial reporting for the PMCoE.
- Source, interview, and onboard staff or contract Project Managers as needed to meet project demands.
What are the must-haves…
- Demonstrated experience leading a Project Management Office (PMO) or Center of Excellence (CoE), specifically within a technology or IMIT context.
- Willingness and ability to step in and manage projects directly ("getting your hands dirty").
- Proven track record of effective problem-solving and detailed information gathering in a project environment.
- Proven ability to lead, mentor, and manage a team of Project Managers.
- Exceptional strategic planning, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Strong understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall) and governance best practices.
- Experience with technology vendor management, contract review, and performance oversight.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to present complex information clearly to executive leadership.
- Experience in budget development, cost management, and project financial tracking.
- PMP or equivalent project management certification is a strong asset.
