Job Description
AECOM is hiring for Senior Project Director to be based in the Greater Toronto Area to oversee a portfolio of projects that can range from $100K to $100M in fees, requiring complex coordination across multiple systems and process, including design development, project procurement support, engineering services during construction, start-up and commissioning and post-construction services.
In this role, you will oversee a number of project managers with the following primary responsibilities:
Oversee the deliver successful projects – Ensure financial performance, client satisfaction, risk mitigation, and compliance with safety and quality standards
Accountability and oversite – Uphold corporate and client standards across all projects
Support project managers – mentor project managers, provide escalation support (internal and external), and maintain project level quality
Effectively resolve challenging and unusual business problems in areas of risk, financial, contract and resource management. or joint venture partner.
Acts as primary escalation point of contact with client
Responsible for regular project progress reports to the clients and AECOM Managers.
Demonstrates creativity, foresight and mature judgment in anticipating and solving both routine and unusual project delivery, technical and client challenges, determining technical objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guides for technical activities and applications.
Stays abreast of industry standards and approaches and implements best practices.
Engage, hands-on, in the technical execution of client assignments through to successful project completion.
Ensure project work is undertaken is accordance with corporate health and safety policies and quality management systems
Mentoring project managers, and other staff members on project team
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering or related field
12+ years extensive experience in the management of projects exceeding $200M
Solid technical skills in one of the practice areas of water/wastewater treatment, or municipal/industrial infrastructure, developed within a professional services environment, ideally with consulting engineering experience
Registration or ability to obtain professional registration with PEO
Preferred Qualifications :
20+ years extensive experience in the management of projects exceeding $200M in water/wastewater treatment, or municipal/industrial infrastructure
Exceptional client care and service delivery skills.
Experience in working with geographically dispersed project teams that have successfully delivered major design projects within budget and on schedule
Experience leading and developing multi discipline project teams that may reside in multiple offices and in multiple countries
Proven project management skills including PM certifications.
Keen business acumen coupled with strong business development experience
