Job Summary
We are seeking a Cyber Security Analyst to strengthen our operational security capabilities and support our overall cybersecurity posture. This role focuses on day-to-day security operations, policy development, and awareness initiatives, enabling senior team members to concentrate on strategic priorities.
The Successful candidate's responsibilities will include:
Operational Security Support
Monitor and review alerts in Sophos Central and other security platforms
Investigate suspicious emails and assist with email security reviews
Investigate and respond to cybersecurity incidents including malware outbreaks, phishing attempts, and unauthorized access
Support software requests by reviewing for security and compliance concerns
Assist in reviewing and granting permissions for enterprise applications or integration requests
Monitor risky users/sign-ins and accounts missing MFA configurations
Assist in cleaning up and optimizing policies/configurations (Sophos, Azure, Mimecast, Active Directory, etc.)
Participate in Zscaler ZIA testing, troubleshooting, and communications
Review vulnerability scans and coordinate them into actionable tasks
Security Awareness & Training
Administer and monitor phishing simulation campaigns
Create phishing templates and follow-up webinars for user education
Develop content for security awareness initiatives (e.g., Cybersecurity Awareness Month)
Policy & Standards Development
Contribute to the review and improvement of cybersecurity standards and playbooks
Assist in updating the Business Continuity Plan (BCP), Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP), and Cyber Incident Response Plan (CIRP)
Communicate changes across the organization
Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
Work with IT infrastructure and application teams to embed security into system designs
Research emerging threats, vulnerabilities, and cybersecurity trends
Propose enhancements to security processes, playbooks, and incident response strategies
The ideal candidate for this position will have:
Diploma or degree in Information Security, Computer Science, or a related field
Exposure to cybersecurity tools and operational tasks (Sophos, Zscaler, MFA, phishing campaigns)
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow security protocols
Proactive, collaborative, and eager to learn advanced security concepts
Preferred Skills
Experience with Microsoft Defender, Azure AD, Exchange, Intune, and other Microsoft platforms
Experience with Secure Email Gateway solutions
Knowledge of scripting (PowerShell, Python) for automation
Familiarity with Identity & Access Management (IAM) processes
