Your opportunity:
The Office of the Faculty Registrar works closely with departments and colleges at the Faculty of Arts & Science concerning virtually all matters relating to Arts and Science undergraduate students. The Student Success unit is responsible for the development, implementation and assessment of Arts & Science academic skill-building co-curricular undergraduate programming.
Under the direction of the Associate Director, Student Success Programs, and working collaboratively with professional staff, students, and faculty members across the division and the University, the Student Success Programs Officer will assume overall responsibility for the planning and implementation of peer-to-peer programs designed to promote the student engagement and academic success of the Faculty of Arts & Science (FAS) students.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Planning and implementing components of curricular and/or co-curricular programs and activities
- Implementing plans and process improvements for program and service activities
- Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
- Reviewing and assessing student learning outcomes
- Monitoring accounts for a project and/or program
- Training and coaching student life staff and student leaders
- Directing the activities of casual staff
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5 years’ of recent and related experience in planning, organizing, implementing, and evaluating programming designed to support undergraduate student success preferably within the University of Toronto.
- Demonstrated experience in developing large or scalable peer-to-peer academic skill building programs.
- Demonstrated facilitation and workshop design experience at the post-secondary level.
- Experience supervising casual staff and volunteers.
- Experience developing, planning and overseeing large scale events.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, conflict mediation, and problem solving skills.
- Must have strong project and program managements skill, accuracy and attention to detail, and ability to problem solve with a proactive solutions focus.
- Demonstrated skills working with diverse students and student groups.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with international students, external stakeholders including community contacts and staff.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively and inclusively within a diverse community with a high level of cross-cultural awareness, understanding and sensitivity.
- Must be flexible and adaptable with a high level of initiative and results orientation.
- Knowledge of student development and other related theories.
- Knowledge of the University of Toronto and FAS policies, procedures, and organizational structures

Pay Scale Group & Hiring Zone:
USW Pay Band 14 -- $91,677. with an annual step progression to a maximum of $117,242. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
