Position Summary
Reporting to the Education Program Coordinator, the Theatre Camp Supervisor will plan and develop day-to-day programming for the Richmond Hill Centre for the Performing Arts Summer Camps. They will supervise the Camp Counsellors working in the program and provide ongoing direction, supervision and evaluations. The Camp Supervisor will assist the Education Program Coordinator and Theatre Camp Director in establishing and implementing the annual orientation for Camp Counsellors. The Camp Supervisor will be responsible for ordering supplies and equipment and completing administrative duties.Key Duties and Responsibilities
Review and facilitate the day-to-day programming for a specific Theatre Camp Program and Before and After Camp Program that meets the children’s age and developmental abilities.
Be on site and available for camp performances (times based on camp position)
Be a source of knowledge and support for theatre campers and staff
Modify camp programming to ensure campers with disabilities are able to participate in programs and be fully integrated into the camp setting.
Ensure there are a variety of activities in the camp program that targets the specific genre of the camp.
Develop resource material for the Camp Counsellors to assist them in delivering the various activities in the program.
Provide ongoing supervision and evaluation of the Camp Counsellors.
Ensure the Before and After Camp Supervisors have scheduled staff to work in the Before and After Camp Program.
Ensure camp ratios are met at all times.
Work with the Camp Volunteers to ensure they are included in the programs and have various responsibilities.
Communicate and interact with participants and make everyone feel welcome
Ensure campers safety and security throughout the day.
Assist in the implementation of camp training
Ensure the camp staff payroll is completed and submitted to the Camp Director in a timely manner
Complete all necessary forms (accident, incident) in a timely and accurate manner.
Represent the City of Richmond Hill by presenting yourself in a cooperative, organized, enthusiastic and well-groomed manner.
Report to work promptly.
Wear assigned uniform and name tag.
Attend scheduled staff meetings and staff training sessions.
Know and understand the policies and procedures of the Community Services Department.
Maintain excellent public relations at all time, with staff and the public.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
High School Diploma
Standard First Aid and CPR C Certification
High Five PHCD Certification
Required Skills/Knowledge
Positive attitude and a team player
Background knowledge in performing arts programming and facilitating
Experience working in the performing arts
Previous experience in a day camp setting, supervising staff and dealing directly with the public.
Strong leadership, communication, organization and administrative skills.
Ability to multi-task.

Must possess a valid Ontario Class "G" Driver's License, and have access to a vehicle for use on corporate business (mileage compensated) and will be required to provide proof of vehicle insurance upon hire
