Role Summary
As the Operational CFO of a fast-scaling SaaS company with $10M in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), you will be a strategic partner to the CEO and executive team, driving financial performance, operational efficiency, and cross-functional alignment. This role blends financial leadership with hands-on oversight of HR, Legal, and Business Operations to support rapid growth, scalability, and investor readiness.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Management
Lead financial planning, forecasting, and scenario modeling to support aggressive growth targets.
Oversee SaaS-specific metrics such as ARR, CAC, LTV, churn, and gross margin.
Manage cash flow, capital allocation, and fundraising strategy (e.g., Series B/C).
Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, including board. investor and other stakeholder communications.
Operational Leadership
Partner with Product, Engineering, and Customer Success to align financial goals with operational execution.
Implement scalable systems and processes to support rapid expansion.
Drive automation and efficiency across billing, revenue recognition, and renewals.
Human Resources Oversight
Lead the people function to scale hiring, compensation planning, and organizational design.
Support leadership development, performance management, and DEI initiatives.
Align headcount planning with financial forecasts and growth strategy.
Legal & Compliance
Oversee legal matters including SaaS contracts, data privacy (e.g., GDPR, SOC 2), IP protection, procurement contract and partner contracts.
Manage relationships with external counsel and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Support due diligence and legal readiness for fundraising and potential M&A.
Business Operations
Lead strategic initiatives across GTM, finance ops, and back-office functions.
Optimize vendor management, procurement, and internal workflows.
Ensure cross-functional alignment and accountability through KPIs and OKRs.
Executive Leadership & Collaboration
Act as a thought partner to the CEO and Board on strategic decisions.
Build and mentor high-performing teams across Finance, HR, Legal, and Ops.
Foster a data-driven culture of transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business; CPA preferred.
10+ years of experience in finance and operations, ideally in SaaS or tech startups.
Deep understanding of SaaS metrics, subscription models, and investor expectations.
Proven track record in scaling finance and operations in high-growth environments.
Strong leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
