Solution Architect
What is the opportunity?
The Global Functions Technology Architecture team is looking for a Solution Architect who will bring their passion and leadership to enhance the strategic roadmap and design of the applications and platforms within the Policy & Governance Technology team. You will partner with IT and business stakeholders to develop the end-to-end technical solution architectures for high-complexity and high-risk IT initiatives to meet sponsor needs. You will work primarily on initiatives that may span multiple projects, many applications, and third parties with complex integration requirements. Your efforts will achieve a rationalized portfolio of effective business and technology solutions cost-effective to the business. Success in this role will be measured by your ability to leverage shared services and reduce redundancy, technical debt and complexity.
What will you do?
Designing (SA) in large or complex programs, including system and application designs, software and technical architecture, in accordance with strategies and objectives.
Providing expertise for the (SA) team and other IT staff on a variety of issues in software designs, system architecture and solution-oriented technologies.
Communicating with clients and analysing business requirements and processes; making recommendations and leading in shaping future plans in (SA).
Overseeing (SA) project outcomes, including hardware and software design; ensuring that each project phase meets overall requirements.
Translate business requirements into solutions to support the overall compliance, governance, corporate security and policy library technology strategy, focusing on architecture blueprints, capabilities models, and proven enterprise patterns.
Help drive the organization towards targeted architecture states and improve the maturity of the architecture practice.
Develop ongoing knowledge of current and emerging technologies
Participate in day-to-day execution of the architecture strategy.
Develop blueprints and conduct design reviews to ensure architectural compliance of solutions.
Maintain a plan to address gaps between current and target state architectures.
Facilitate collaboration within the organization and support the architecture lead and senior architects.
Work across multiple projects and systems to develop, communicate, and mentor others on solution design, implementation and operation patterns and best practices
Designing integration strategies with existing systems (ERP, CRM, or custom applications), ensuring data flows seamlessly between platforms.
What do you need to succeed?
Must have:
Degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or an equivalent analytic-intensive field.
Strong experience in information technology development, design and architecture roles.
Strong experience developing architectures on large data projects and proven results with an extensive program from initiation to implementation.
Experience with developing various enterprise technologies and frameworks, including but not limited to big data and No-SQL data stores, distributed computing, datalakes and lakehouses, service integrations and service development architectures.
Experience with leading programs and projects involving the integration of different types of technologies and platforms, particularly withing vendor-based applications
Knowledge of architecture aspects, including business architecture, data architecture and cyber security architecture.
Effective written and verbal communication with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, clearly explaining complex technical concepts, and translating business requirements into actionable technical strategies.
Nice to have:
Experience building and deploying solutions to public cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.) and hybrid environments
Advanced digital platform skills, modernizing the legacy platforms with all options on architectures would be an asset
Data science and data analytics experience, including machine learning, recommendation engines, search personalization, and deep learning.
GRC solutions across Operational Risk, Third Party Risk, Compliance, Privacy, and IT Risk
Strong knowledge of risk management, compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO, NIST, SOC, SOX), audit processes, and regulatory requirements
Prior experience working in highly regulated industries (e.g., financial services, healthcare, energy) where risk and compliance are critical operational factors.
5+ years of hands-on experience working with Archer, including architecture, design, and configuration of complex Governance Risk Compliance (GRC) solutions.
