Key purpose of the role: The Clearing Risk Quantification and Development team is currently engaged in an extensive long-term strategic plan to enhance the existing clearing risk platform to completely overhaul and construct a top-tier clearing risk framework Your Team The Model Risk Management team is a second-line of defence team that has responsibility for the management of model risk relating to Clearing House risk models. This includes the management of the model inventory, independent testing and validation, on-going monitoring, outcomes analysis and management of Risks Not in Model. The role will work in the team responsible for managing model risk in line with ASX’s enhanced risk management framework. To be successful in the position, the candidate requires strong technical abilities, excellent communication skills, and an inquisitive nature which enables them to identify issues, propose solutions and discuss complex concepts with stakeholders. Your responsibilities Work in a second-line of defence team that focuses on model risk management activities including: Adherence to the model risk framework to support the effective management of model risk for different stages of the model life cycle Management of the ASX Registers relating to models including; documentation, model maintenance and validation records Development of challenger/benchmark models to support validation, on-going model monitoring and model outcomes analysis Liaison with external stakeholders including participants, professional service firms and vendors on ASX models Authoring Reports and Presentations detailing validation of models for Management and Regulators Coordination of UAT testing activities for the wider Clearing Risk Quantification & Oversight team Your experience and qualifications Must have Demonstrated an ability to construct pragmatic analytical solutions to complex financial problems Had extensive exposure to financial markets at a participant, clearinghouse, or technology provider in a risk management capacity Acquired strong knowledge of risk management concepts and techniques Experience with model validation, testing, and implementation Excellent academic qualifications in a quantitative discipline Nice to have Knowledge of ASX Derivatives products Understanding of end to end CCP activities, from data acquisition through to how model output is used Knowledge of the Australian Financial regulatory environment Programming experience ideally in C# or an object oriented language Experience with SQL, JIRA, GIT, GoCD and Jenkins We make hiring decisions based on your skills, capabilities and experience, and how you’ll help us to live our values.
