We are looking for an experienced Manager, Facility Operations, FIFA Support to oversee the planning, construction, and maintenance of our outdoor infrastructure, including parking lots, power, water, sewage, and other critical site amenities. Reporting to the Director, Facility Operations, you will work closely with the Facility Operations and Infrastructure & Capital Projects teams to ensure all outdoor assets meet FIFA standards and local compliance requirements.
This is a unique opportunity to lead high-profile outdoor operations that will support one of the world’s largest sporting events. This role will commence shortly and is expected to conclude on September 30, 2026
What You Will Do:
Oversee development, construction, and maintenance of outdoor infrastructure for BC Place FIFA operations, including power distribution, water and sewage containment, waste/recycling management, and temporary overlays.
Ensure all FIFA-approved designs are implemented on time, compliant with local regulations, and meeting safety and accessibility standards.
Monitor schedules, track progress, for external infrastructure build.
Ensure that all physical equipment and systems are operating, maintained, and monitored effectively.
Troubleshoot on-site issues, conduct daily site walks, and implement preventive maintenance programs.
Ensure proactive escalation processes for addressing facility-related challenges.
Provide timely updates on operational status, projects, and issue resolutions.
Monitor and communicate vendor performance and compliance with contractual obligations.
Provide expert information to senior management on matters of external physical facilities and properties.
Communicate effectively with both contractors and tradespeople to ensure quality standards are met.
Respond to urgent issues (e.g., leaks, power outages, safety hazards) and manage after-hours emergencies.
Develop and implement schedules and procedures for safety inspections and preventive maintenance programs.
What You Bring:
Completion of post-secondary education and training in Building or Facility Management or completion of a post-secondary diploma/certificate in an Interprovincial trade, or equivalent combination of training, knowledge and experience.
Minimum 5 to 7 years’ management experience in a large facility.
Trade experience is an asset.
Sound working knowledge of a wide variety of standard software applications, internet communications and research including Momentus (EBMS), ABI, and Microsoft Office.
Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with health and safety regulations including WorkSafe BC.
A thorough knowledge of electrical/mechanical systems, maintenance, building automation systems, environmental health and safety compliance requirements.
Extensive experience in facility operations, for stadiums during major events such as the Olympics or Women’s World Cup.
Proven ability to plan and deliver infrastructure for large sporting events or similar high-profile projects.
Knowledge site coordination for events, concerts, tours, or sporting events.
Ability to work outdoors for extended periods and lift/move up to 20 lbs. as required.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
The salary range for this position is $90,000 – $100,000
Offers will be in line with PavCo’s internal pay equity and qualified candidate’s experience and education.
You will earn 8% vacation pay on your earnings and will be paid out on each bi-weekly pay.
