Join our Business Technology Team as a Senior Project Manager

We’re seeking a Senior Project Manager to focus on defining, planning, and implementing a diverse set of projects within the Business Technology organization. You’ll work hand in hand with a large team of project managers and analysts, a driven set of technologists, and business and technology leaders from across the enterprise. You’ll leverage and balance a passion for agile software development with application of sound project management practices. This role has an expectation of 3 days in the London, ON office per week, subject to change based on future business needs.
What you'll be doing:
Be responsible for all aspects of project management and agile development team ceremonies. Additional responsibilities may include analysis, project delivery validation (QA/UAT), and other duties as assigned
Develop and refine project plans specifying staffing, scheduling, risks, and contingency plans
Work with Product leaders to ensure clear definition of goals and metrics
Lead large and sometimes global or virtual groups of multi-disciplinary teams with highly talented technical professionals through the execution of tasks defined in the plan
Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and costs using a variety of techniques to keep the project plan accurate, updated, and reflective of authorized project changes
Manage dependencies and collaborate with other project managers and team and product leaders to ensure overall project is completed within the parameters of the plan
Establish and cultivate relationships with other departments and organizations to recognize and actively manage dependencies associated with projects
Ensure a common understanding across stakeholders and team members by setting and managing expectations in accordance with the project plan
Gather, articulate, and represent project requirements for our agile software development teams
Anticipate and measure project performance using various quantitative tools and techniques to monitor and communicate progress, identify and quantify any variances, perform any required corrective actions, and communicate to all stakeholders in an unbiased manner
Proactively identify and plan for risks as well as implement approved actions and workarounds to mitigate risk events to minimize the impact to the project
Drive the conversion of conceptual ideas into actionable and clearly understood project deliverables with feasible delivery timelines
Generate key project milestones and facilitate their review
Lead efforts to improve the way in which we manage projects via progressive tools, processes, and metrics
Facilitate cross-functional team meetings, sometimes with C level executives to ensure alignment and clear communication
What we're looking for:
Bachelor's degree with a minimum 10 years of relevant work experience focusing project management
Demonstrated ability to execute on tasks that are sometimes vaguely defined using prior experience, analytical skills, and available research
Thorough experience delivering projects using an agile methodology
Experience managing project teams of 10 or more in multiple locations or complex multi-disciplinary projects that involve multiple project teams
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven manner
Ability to work with and communicate, both written and verbally across multiple job levels, including C level executives to ensure alignment and achieve results
Ability to mentor junior project managers in the use of proven project management tools and practices
Ability to travel approximately 10% of the time
Other Desired Qualifications:
Desire to pragmatically improve PM-related processes
Passion for project-focused team leadership and execution
Basic understanding of modern IT infrastructure, cloud, and IT security
Project Management Institute (PMI) certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP)
