About the position: The Administrative Assistant supports the operations and information needs of assigned programs by developing and applying appropriate technical and administrative processes. Supporting the program manager/coordinator with a variety of administrative duties.
Duties:
• Prepare and maintain accurate and complete records, reports and complex filing;
• Organizing meetings, conferences, travel arrangements, special projects and events;
• Take detailed minutes at various meetings;
• Assist in coordination and development of reports and proposals by compiling documents;
• Act as a point of contact for internal and external inquiries;
• Maintains the filing system for program files and for documents such as reports, correspondence, staff orientation and training records, community training records, etc.;
• Handles the acquisition and distribution of program related supplies and equipment such as: office materials, forms, small equipment, etc.;
Qualifications:
• Minimum Grade 12; certificate in Administrative or Office Education preferred;
• Experience and knowledge with computers and office equipment;
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
• Combination of education and relevant experience may be considered;
• Experience working with First Nations Organizations is an asset;
• Ability to speak/understand Cree is an asset;
• Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s License;
• Ability to travel to outlying communities as required;
