THE OPPORTUNITY
We have an opportunity for a Learning and Development Specialist, Retail to join our award-winning firm in the Vancouver office.
Our Talent Development team is growing, and we are seeking an experienced and dynamic Learning and Development Specialist to deliver high-quality training programs for our new investment advisory support team members. The ideal candidate will cultivate a continuous learning environment, ensuring our workforce possesses the necessary skills and knowledge to meet firm goals and regulatory requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide one-on-one support and mentorship to new team members, peer trainers and others requiring specific skill development
Conduct and facilitate effective training sessions, workshops, seminars, and individual coaching using a variety of formats (in-person, virtual, blended, and self-paced)
Manage training program logistics, including scheduling, platform management for virtual sessions, participant enrollment, and maintaining accurate training records and attendance
Ensure learning outcomes are met by implementing assessments and feedback mechanisms to measure effectiveness e.g., tests/evaluations/surveys, analyzing results, and monitoring post-training behaviours
Partner with the Talent Development team and Sales and Retail team to identify areas for improvement and modify training content and delivery methods as needed
Partner with various business teams to identify new training needs , specific to skills development and process training.
Recommend solutions to enhance departmental efficiency and effectiveness while enhancing the team member experience
Work closely with People Leaders and other departments to ensure team members are receiving the best onboarding experience possible

Change Management – Create strategies, plans and solutions that guide people and teams through change to ensure smooth transitions, buy-in, and sustained outcomes
Experience Design – Envision, design, document and implement meaningful experiences and then translate them into programs, processes and practices for stakeholders
Project Management – Plan, coordinate, execute, and oversee projects, balancing time, resources, and scope to achieve objectives, support stakeholders, and meet deadlines
Systems and Application Proficiency – Use, maintain, manage or improve specific systems or applications in our role to work effectively and efficiently
Training and Facilitation – Deliver training using appropriate facilitation methods or formats to foster new skills, abilities or knowledge in participants
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
Minimum 3-5 years of client facing experience within the investment industry , or equivalent
Proven experience as a facilitator with an understanding of adult learning principles.
Demonstrated technical knowledge in financial services/investment systems, products and guidelines
Educational background in Adult Education and/or Provincial Instructors’ Diploma is an asset
Completion of the Canadian Securities Course and Conduct and Practices Handbook
Strong written and verbal communication, public speaking, and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and engagingly to diverse audiences
Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Salesforce, Dataphile, Portfolio Management software and Learning Management Systems (LMS) experience preferred
Excellent organizational, excel skills, project management, and time management abilities, with strong attention to detail
Currently, or previously IR or RR licensed (nice to have).

This role has an expected salary of $70,000 - $95,000/year, plus the potential for bonuses.
