Position: IT Analyst Co-op
Salary: Grade 4, Non Union ($23.78/hr 2025 rate)
Reports to: Deputy Chief Information Officer
Work Term: May to September
Purpose of Position:
Reporting to the Deputy Chief Information Officer, the IT Analyst Co-op student is responsible for assisting in providing technical support to end users, maintenance of systems including hardware, software, network, telephony, peripherals, office equipment, mobile devices, and related infrastructure.
Qualifications and Experience:
Be a returning student in a Computer Science certificate, diploma or degree program in college or university.
Must have experience demonstrating effective written and verbal communication skills.
Must have experience demonstrating strong communication skills, customer relationship skills that are collaborative, responsive, and supportive
Must hold and maintain a valid Ontario driver’s license.
Previous experience in Information Technology is an asset.
Knowledge:
Working knowledge and experience in various software applications including Microsoft Applications such as Office Suite, Office 365, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive
Working knowledge of Windows desktop and server operating systems, client/server software and hardware, virtual operating environments, and network infrastructure technologies
Hardware maintenance and troubleshooting skills with network components, workstations and printers
Major Responsibilities:
Document, support and maintain the Municipality’s computer hardware, software and peripheral inventory.
Troubleshoot technical issues regarding computer configurations. PC Hardware, software, peripheral devices such as scanners, projectors, photocopiers, and telephony, etc.
Assist with rollout of hardware and software as required.
Develop and assist in training staff in all computer and telephony related areas.
Assist in developing, documenting, testing and implementation of software/hardware applications that are customized to meet the requirements of specific departments, sub-departments, or clients
Assist with the maintenance of the LAN, WAN, WLAN, servers and communications infrastructure
Perform other duties as assigned
Decision Making and Judgement:
Work is performed under the general direction of the Deputy Chief Information Officer
Decision making limited to recommending courses of actions to the Deputy Chief Information Officer
Physical Skill and Effort
Sitting, standing, bending, walking, climbing stairs, crawling, using a ladder, walking on uneven ground
Lifting of up to 10 kgs on occasion

Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm.
