As a Data Engineer at Redlen, you will be supporting the design, development and maintenance of scalable data warehouse solutions that support enterprise-wide analytics and reporting. This role supports data integrity, optimal performance, and collaborates with cross functional teams to implement business needs into actionable insights. You will work closely with IT and business intelligence teams to ensure the accuracy, availability, and accessibility of data.
Key Responsibilities:
ETL Process Management:
Contribute to and support the design, build, and maintenance of efficient and reliable ETL processes.
Extract data from various sources, transform it to fit operational needs, and load it into the final target database.
Optimize and fine-tune ETL processes for improved performance and reliability.
Data Modeling and Warehousing:
Contribute to the development and maintenance of scalable data models and schemas.
Ensure data quality and integrity in the data warehouse.
Implement robust data warehouse solutions, optimized for performance, scalability and usability.
Data Visualization and Reporting:
Create and maintain dashboards and reports for business users.
Translate business requirements into technical specifications for data visualization.
Use data visualization tools to present data in a way that is easy to understand and actionable.
Governance and Security
Adhere to data governance policies are followed and compliance with data privacy regulations.
Monitor data access controls and security protocols and elevate requests when required.
Monitor and test disaster recovery and backup plans.
Collaboration and Support:
Collaborate with IT and business teams to understand data needs.
Provide technical support and training to end-users on data visualization tools.
Keep abreast of industry trends and advancements in data warehousing and visualization technologies.
Experience and Qualifications:
BA or MA in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
A minimum of 2 years of experience in data warehousing, data engineering, business intelligence and ETL processes.
Strong knowledge of SQL and experience with relational databases.
Experience with ETL tools (e.g., Informatica, Talend, SSIS).
Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
Strong technical competency in data modeling and data warehousing concepts.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with cloud data warehousing solutions (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery).
Familiarity with JMP, Python or R for data processing.
Experience in a manufacturing data environment

Salary Range: $82,000 - $102,000 CAD

The salary range posted above reflects the minimum and maximum for new hire salaries, taking into account factors such as job-related skills and expertise, relevant training and education, and business needs. It is common for ranges to span multiple levels in order to attract top talent across experience levels. It is uncommon to be hired at the top of the range; however, in exceptional cases where a candidate's skills and expertise significantly exceed the role's requirements, we may consider offering a higher salary.
