Job Title: Project Facilitator – Newcomer Youth Trades Toolbox
Location: St. John’s, NL
Position Type: 2 full-time positions starting in January until approximately mid-May (16-week project)

Reporting to the Senior Manager – Employment Programs, the Project Facilitator - Newcomer Youth Trades Toolbox supports project implementation by managing timelines, milestones, and resources while assisting with advisory board activities and collaboration with internal team members. The position leads the development and delivery of engaging training programs that prepare newcomer youth for careers in the trades, including updating training materials and assessing participant progress. The role also provides guidance to participants, career practitioners, and language coaches in setting and achieving educational and career goals. Ongoing program evaluation, reporting on outcomes, and coordination with external partners and stakeholders are essential to ensuring program success.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Support management with advisory board activities related to the project
Implement the detailed project plan, including timelines, milestones, and required resources
Develop, deliver and/or oversee the delivery of training programs designed to prepare newcomer youth for careers in the trades
Utilize engaging and effective training techniques to support participants' learning and skill development
Assess the progress and performance of participants and provide constructive feedback
Collaborate with other team members to align program development and deliverables
Update and adapt training materials to ensure their relevance and effectiveness
Provide guidance and support to career practitioners and participants, addressing their questions and concerns
Support career practitioner/language coach in their work with setting educational and career goals in the trades for participants
Assess the effectiveness of training program and make improvements as needed
Prepare regular reports on participant progress and program outcomes
Collaborate with the Project Lead and other team members to ensure program objectives are met
Coordinate with external partners and stakeholders to enhance program offerings
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in education, training, or a related field (master's degree preferred)
Experience in training program development and facilitation
Knowledge of the trades industry and education pathways
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related computer applications
Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities, with a demonstrated capacity to engage clients from diverse cultural, linguistic, and socioeconomic backgrounds
Proven ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while also taking initiative and working independently
Strong time-management skills and ability to handle multiple priorities effectively
Conditions of Employment:
Legal authorization to work in Canada
Flexible to work outside of core hours (Monday-Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm)
Valid class 5 NL driver’s license and daily access to a personal vehicle is required
Ability to travel is required
Position is subject to a satisfactory Criminal Record Screening and Vulnerable Sector Check from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary
