About the Role We’re looking for a detail-oriented professional to join our team as a Technical Accounting Manager. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with IFRS accounting standards related to IT projects and cloud computing arrangements. You will evaluate criteria for capitalization of development costs under IAS 38, assess cloud computing arrangements under relevant IFRIC guidance, and distinguish between capital expenditures and operating expenses. You will also serve as the primary contact with the IT department and act as the subject matter expert for accounting treatment of technology-related investments. What You’ll Do Evaluate IT project expenditures and cloud computing arrangements to determine proper accounting treatment under IAS 38 and related IFRIC agenda decisions. Ensure development costs meet capitalization criteria and are appropriately recognized. Partner with IT and procurement teams to review contracts, service agreements, and vendor invoices for cloud and software services. Provide guidance on treatment as intangible assets, prepaid services, or operating expenses under IFRS. Review and approve monthly journal entries and reconciliations for IT projects. Ensure accurate and timely month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes. Support external audit and internal control requirements related to intangible asset capitalization and cloud computing arrangements. Lead process improvements and documentation for IT project accounting under IFRS. Provide staff training on capitalization policies, compliance requirements, and reporting expectations. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in accounting CPA or Chartered Accountant 5+ years of experience with strong technical background and experience in IFRS. Strong technical and analytical skills, including Excel, reporting tools, and data analysis. Supervisory or project leadership experience. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in accounting or MBA. Big 4 or public accounting background. Strong understanding of internal controls and the external audit process. Experience with SQL, Power BI, or reporting tools. Current Location: Mississauga. Our Mississauga office will move to 1 Adelaide in Toronto in September 2026. The hiring base salary range for this position is $99,200 to $136,400 annually. Actual compensation within this range will depend on the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, internal equity, and market alignment. This range applies only to candidates hired to perform work in this geographic location; candidates working in other locations will be subject to that location’s applicable range.
