As a Claims Casualty Adjuster, you will manage casualty claims of minor to moderate complexity, including minor litigated auto bodily injury, physical damage liability (PDL), and minor commercial general liability (CGL) claims. Some files may involve litigation. Your work ensures claims are handled efficiently and fairly, directly impacting customer satisfaction and Gore Mutual’s financial health. This role is a critical step toward developing the skills needed to progress to Senior Claims Representative, Casualty.
What You’ll Do
Handle minor to moderate level casualty files for Auto, PDL and CGL
Thoroughly investigate claims, collecting casualty-specific details
Leverage investigation outcome to determine potential for tort exposure
Attend mediations, pretrial, trials and small claims court actions where applicable; some travel may be required
Negotiate and settle claims within authority limits
Provide quality reporting and reserving analysis on claims files
Formulate reserves based on analysis of injury, ultimate probable outcome
Formulate settlement analysis; low/med/high settlement ranges and develop a plan to control outcome
What You Bring
Minimum 2-3 years claims handling, some casualty exposure preferred.
Time management, desk management, prioritizing task management skills.
Exposure to conflict resolution.
Basic Negotiation skills.
Knowledge of Auto and Property claims preferred.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong time management, organizational ability, and attention to detail.
Critical judgment, problem-solving, and investigative skills.
Ability to manage challenges and maintain composure under pressure.
College or equivalent industry experience preferred.
