SBM is seeking an entry to mid-level Structural/Architectural Drafter/Designer to join the Structural/Building Design Division in our London office. Reporting to the Structural Design & Drafting Employee Lead, the successful candidate will assist in the Revit & CAD design of various projects both Architectural and Structural, attend meetings, and compile information for upcoming projects.

The firm employs over 140 engineers, engineering trainees, technologists, technicians, planners, and administrative personnel.
Key Responsibilities:
Structural & Architectural drafting and design for small/medium sized commercial buildings
Prepare of Structural & Architectural drawings for projects from design through working drawings
Complete full sets of structural engineering/design drawings for permit application
Other tasks as assigned by Senior Engineers/Techs, Team Lead or Division Manager
Skills/Qualifications:
Graduate of Architectural Technology Diploma Program or equivalent
Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD and Microsoft Office programs required; experience in Revit considered an asset
Experience with rendering software's, such as Twinmotion considered an asset
2-5 years relevant work experience in Structural/Architectural drafting and Revit/AutoCAD design
Excellent communication skills both written and verbally
In depth knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, as well as understanding of Zoning and Municipal design requirements considered an asset
Knowledge of various Structural framing types and understanding of a building's structural system considered an asset
Knowledge of construction materials and practices
Ability to interpret Structural design markups and apply critical thinking to accurately convey the information on a set of structural engineering/design drawings
Experience preparing accurate working drawings for permit application
Ability to coordinate multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
Commitment to ongoing professional and personal growth; willingness to learn
Excellent problem-solving skills and initiative
Working towards C. Tech., BCIN, or other professional designation is considered an asset
Access to vehicle for site review/inspections is considered an asset
Compensation:
This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and annual performance bonus. The salary range for this position is $52,500 to $67,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications. SBM offers a positive work environment and a good relationship with our employee translates directly to better customer service and a superior finished product for our clients. The successful candidate with typically work 8AM - 5PM Monday to Thursday and 8AM - 2:30PM on Fridays.
