What is the opportunity?
The Manager, Practice Enablement for the Southwest Ontario region, is a leadership role that has ownership for enabling RBC Philips, Hager & North Investment Counsel (PH&N IC) teams to deliver an exceptional client experience. You will be responsible for effectively managing the support staff who lead the administration and operation of the Investment Counsellor businesses, interact with clients, support marketing efforts, and contribute to business risk management; this will be conducted by proactively driving and coaching on innovative and effective operations and client practices that align to the latest/greatest thought leadership and insight, and liaising with peers across the country, National Office Partners, and Wealth Management Operations.

What will you do?
Support the region’s Investment Counsellors with their business objectives by coaching team members to deliver excellence in areas of priority, and encourage a culture of growth, idea generation, innovation, and success
Promote effective working relationships within Investment Counsellor teams, providing coaching, training and stepping-in to support team issue resolution as needed
Accountable for sharing/contributing best practices across the entire regional team to drive effective operations, and encourage and lead change in their offices, including the championing of and support for all head office change initiatives and efforts
Handle talent acquisition requests with focused recruiting and ensure effective onboarding experiences, establish mentoring, and organize and oversee required training for new team members
Oversee the annual performance management cycle, working closely with Investment Counsellors to understand and support team member performance. Create development opportunities and manage structures to support team member promotions. Manage low performance through coaching and effective leadership.
Ensure operational and procedural excellence through oversight of outstanding risk alerts and ensure missing documents are actioned by teams.
Support the management of the physical office operations of the region
Help staff resolve operational issues that arise through their work, remove barriers for staff in their interactions with Operations, and provide appropriate escalation support for issues that require executive visibility
Create an environment of employee engagement and effectiveness; be a culture leader in the business, empowering team members, creating space for collaboration, and recognizing and rewarding exceptional performance
Develop a talent pipeline by understanding capacity requirements and availability across staff and allocating resources effectively, as well as any potential succession plans
What do you need to succeed?
Must Have
Demonstrated experience managing and developing people, leading large teams to exceptional outcomes, and leading against objectives in a business development environment
Experience leading and driving engagement through change management and a passion for problem solving
Leadership experience in Wealth Management or Financial Services
Exceptional communication skills, both spoken and written
Strong conflict resolution skills
Ability to deal with ambiguity
Organization, time management skills, and attention to detail
Experience in assisting wealth management teams and client facing roles
Nice to Have
Investment designation such as CIM, CFP or CFA
University Degree
