Compensation
At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members and are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $96790 - $128239. Individual pay within this salary range is determined by several compensable factors, including performance, knowledge, job-related skills and experience, and relevant education or training.
This position may also be eligible for S&C’s annual incentive plan (AIP). AIP amounts are variable and are dependent on both company and individual performance, subject to eligibility criteria. The target bonus percentage for this role is 10% of annual base earnings.
The Field Service team is responsible for the product installation, system configuration, testing, commissioning, start-up assistance, maintenance, troubleshooting and training of S&C’s products as well as other electrical equipment. This position is responsible for managing the activities of all field service functions, including the supervision of staff including the Field Service Technologists and Engineers. The individual will also undertake work activities themselves. The Assistant Manager – Field Service Center is regionally based and will report to the Senior Manager-Service Operations Support.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the daily operations of one or more field service teams including the safe execution of the work program, scheduling, payroll reporting, hiring, employee feedback, coaching and development of team members.
Ensure field personnel are qualified, prepared and understand scope of work for each work assignment.
Assure compliance with all OSHA, S&C & NEC safety rules and regulations to reflect Canadian Standards.
Ensure adherence to standard work practices and continue development of Standard Work Practices.
Build customer relationships and resolve customer’s equipment issues.
Perform hands-on field services work activities.
Coordinate reporting and information requirements for within Field Services and for facilitating information flow between Field Service employees and other departments or customers.
Develop new service initiatives that will support the long-term business objectives of the department.
Develop technical core competencies for Field Service employees.
Establish team member annual performance goals and conduct performance check-ins with team members.
Support Senior Manager with documentation and feedback related to, promotions, corrective action and terminations.
What we are looking for:
Bachelors degree or Associate Degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Demonstrated good technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
Minimum of 3 -5 years industry field experience.
Must be able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
Ability to quickly prioritize tasks and take action.
Strong conflict resolution, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated high regard and equality for people.
Ability to travel (based on departmental requirements)
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
Must have excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to maintain effective working relationships, function as a team leader and must be able to train other members of the team.
Physical Effort:
Normal or frequent minor physical effort required for the day-to-day activity in the workplace. May involve standing, sitting, walking, climbing stairs and lifting/moving/using objects or equipment up to 20lbs.
Work Environment:
Acceptable working environment with minor or almost no disagreeable or challenging working conditions as part of everyday expected levels (all jobs will occasionally experience undesirable or disagreeable events).
