Manager Operations, Airside Operations is responsible and accountable for successfully plan, organize, and manage Aircraft Services functions and safety operation. Responsible for day-to-day operations and safety compliance of Jazz stations, ground handlers and other external suppliers under responsibility. Work in a close partnership with the Airport Safety Organization
Safety First:
Ensure that risks related to Safety and Security are addressed, root cause identified, and corrective measures implemented. Supports Airport managers and frontline staff within their regions to ensure that Safety, Security and Service standards are observed, monitored and practiced consistently by conducting on-going self-audits. Where self-audit or regulatory audit activities have revealed vulnerabilities, ensure identification of root cause, implementation of corrective measures to address them, as well as a means to verify effectiveness.
Is responsible for the safety of operations within their region. Oversees and supports the implementation and audit of Air Canada SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures), as well as the regular follow up meetings with Stakeholders internally, and externally, by airport managers.
Ensures compliance with standards of IOSA, SMS and other applicable authorities.
Responsible for supporting Management and Ground Handlers for safety, security, and customer service activities within responsible region.
Anticipates and identifies safety, security, service, and operational problems, and resolves them with the branch safety team while maintaining the focus on safety.
Responsible for the day to day management of operations at the respective station.
Work in a close partnership with airport safety team.
Ensure OHS Safety, Security and Service standards are observed, monitored and practiced consistently including the application of the Emergency Response and Environmental Plans.
Manager is responsible for and accountable for investigations
Allocate airport operations material, human & financial resources and policies for Air Canada to ensure safety and security of operations.
Key Functions & Accountabilities:
Plan, organize, and manage Aircraft Services functions.
Responsible for the effective and timely management of aircraft services team.
Anticipate and identify safety, security & operational problems & resolves them with the branch safety team while maintaining the focus on safety
Communicate with staff on a regular basis to keep them up-to-date and knowledgeable of new products, performance (service and operational) issues and branch objectives.
Manage processes to encourage and obtain ongoing feedback from employees to identify concerns.
Recognize and acknowledge employees who consistently deliver service excellence.
Effectively liaise /cooperate with other departments / suppliers on an ongoing basis to meet service and operational requirements.
Provide leadership to aircraft services, to ensure the implementation, maintenance and improvement of procedures and processes to achieve or exceed customer service level and perform standards.
Guide aircraft services, counsel, develop and motivate his/her airport team, through example and will be accountable for all activities related to aircraft services.
Develops & leads the Station Safety Plan for aircraft services and baggage services and ensures consistent adherence to plan.
