Job Description What is the Opportunity The Hedge Accounting Analyst will be responsible to manage the financial control responsibilities in the Enterprise Controllership Group with the objective of delivering timely, accurate and reliable financial information. In this capacity, you will be working on the reporting and production aspects of RBC’s Net Investment Hedge thereby helping the bank mitigate its FX risk. What will you do? Manage end-to-end hedging workflows and system operations Prepare daily inception documentation through validating transaction details Perform designations, monitor effectiveness testing, and prepare reporting of the net investment hedge program Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and yearly external reporting including FS, note disclosures, regulatory reporting & management reporting Identify and assist in system and process enhancement initiatives Assist in the investigation of all financial and regulatory reporting matters. Maintain technical knowledge and keep abreast of all new accounting developments including hedge accounting changes. Participate in ad-hoc projects as directed by reporting manager. What do you need to succeed? Must Have Knowledge of complex financial instruments and transactions, together with a willingness and interest in developing that knowledge. Highly developed communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills are considered necessary for the success of this role. Strong financial, analytical, judgmental and conceptual skills. Ability to manage operations workflows and process improvement experience Excellent presentation and report writing skills. Strong team skills and work ethic. Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or another quantitative field Advanced Excel Skills Nice to Have Strong knowledge of the RBC financial systems Hedge accounting knowledge is an asset Working towards a professional designation such as CFA or CPA What’s in it for you?
