The Business Intelligence function within Category Management plays a critical role in enabling evidence-based decision-making. This position transforms procurement, contract, financial, and market data into meaningful insights that drive improved performance reporting and strategic outcomes. The specialist contributes as part of a collaborative team responsible for delivering business intelligence capabilities that support both internal and external stakeholders.
Tasks
Develop and deliver analytical work products using diverse datasets, including procurement, contract, financial, supplier, and market information.
Utilize tools such as SAP, Power BI, Alteryx, and other analytics technologies to meet evolving information and reporting needs.
Collaborate effectively with internal staff and contracted resources in a multi-vendor environment.
Analyze data and present clear, actionable insights.
Gather, document, and validate business and technical requirements.
Design, build, and refine business intelligence solutions, dashboards, reports, and data models.
Capture and maintain business and technical metadata for all information products.
Support control processes such as schedule management, status reporting, issue tracking, risk management, and change management.
Produce deliverables that meet established quality standards and project timelines.
Conduct quality assurance reviews on business intelligence outputs.
Respond to ad-hoc data and reporting requests.
Perform data analysis, data quality assessments, statistical analysis, and data mining.
Identify, escalate, and monitor issues and risks as required.
Work effectively within a cross-functional, multi-partner environment.
Requirements
Must-Have
Experience with business intelligence tools (Power BI, SAP, Alteryx or similar).
Strong skills in data analysis, data quality review, and transforming raw data into insights.
Ability to design and build reports, dashboards, and information products.
Experience gathering and documenting business and technical requirements.
Solid understanding of procurement, contract, financial, or market data (any combination).
Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
Ability to work effectively in a team with internal staff and external vendors.
Ability to meet timelines, follow quality standards, and manage deliverables.
Strong communication skills for explaining findings and responding to ad-hoc inquiries.
