Job Description: Restores, maintains and enhances the recovery of clients seeking help for addiction and/or addiction related impacts by implementing various modalities of addiction recovery programs. "Preference for this position will be given to HSAS members in accordance with the terms and conditions of the SAHO/HSAS Collective Agreement"

Education
Addictions Counselling diploma
Licenses
Valid Class 5 driver's license

Advanced - Problem solving skills
Knowledge and Abilities
Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary team
Knowledge in group dynamics
Knowledge in applying a cognitive-behavioral or other major modes of therapy
Knowledge in co-current disorders and issues related to gambling addictions
Knowledge in Developmental Model of Recovery
Demonstrate knowledge in addiction(s) and their effects on the individual.
Knowledge of addictions interventions involving drugs, alcohol or tobacco
Knowledge in Transtheoretical model of change
Knowledge in various mental health and addiction and harm reduction strategies
Ability to screen for addictions and/or addiction related symptoms
Knowledge in factors affecting family dynamics
Knowledge in holistic addictions treatment model
