OpenText™ Cloud Platform (OCP) is our next-generation Information Management as a Service platform that enables development and deployment of multi-tenant SaaS applications. We are looking for a Senior QA Developer to join our Quality Engineering team.
This position is based in the OpenText office in Richmond Hill, Canada.
Your Impact:
We are looking for an individual passionate about software quality who thrives in a fast-paced, agile environment. You will be hands-on with quality engineering while also influencing best practices and mentoring team members.
Working with a team of experienced Product Managers, Engineers, Architects, and Cloud Operations teams, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of our OCP services and applications. This is an excellent opportunity to influence quality strategy and contribute to the delivery of world-class, highly scalable, cloud-based platform.
What the role offers:
Designing and executing robust test strategies for complex, distributed, and cloud-native applications.
Performing functional, regression, API, UI, performance, and security testing across microservices-based architectures.
Building and maintaining automated test frameworks using tools such as Selenium, Playwright, and Cucumber.
Driving performance and load testing initiatives with tools like JMeter.
Contributing to CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests within GitLab or similar DevOps environments.
Collaborating with developers, architects, and product managers to ensure testability, scalability, and reliability from design to delivery.
Working effectively in Agile teams, contributing to sprint planning, estimation, and continuous improvement.
Troubleshooting complex issues in distributed systems and providing detailed defect analysis.
What you need to succeed:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
Solid experience in Quality Engineering or Software Testing, ideally in cloud or SaaS environments.
Strong understanding of API testing, UI testing, and microservices validation.
Hands-on expertise with automation tools (Selenium, Playwright, Cucumber) and performance testing tools (JMeter).
Familiarity with security testing principles and practices.
Proficiency in version control, CI/CD, and build pipelines (GitLab preferred).
Exposure to cloud platforms, ideally Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically about system behaviours and edge cases.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working in geographically dispersed teams.
Enthusiasm for Agile methodologies, test-driven development, and continuous integration practices.
