This position is part of the Association of the Academic Staff of the University of Alberta (AASUA).
The successful candidate will be offered a tenure-track appointment with the rank of Assistant Professor, which is in accordance with the Academic Faculty Agreement, and offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry is one of Canada’s premier health-education institutions and has been internationally recognized among the world’s top 50 medical schools. The Department of Emergency Medicine, within the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, is a growing research and education-focused Department, currently consisting of 45 Full-Time Academic Faculty and over 200 Clinical Faculty. The Department has a fully accredited Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada residency program (5 years) and it works very closely and supports the University of Alberta Department of Family Medicine’s College of Family Physicians of Canada CFPC-Emergency Medicine program. The Department also offers clinical experience to medical students and residents from other training programs during their mandatory emergency medicine rotations. Research groups within the Department are heavily involved in evidence-based medicine and have produced high-quality evidence through primary research for over 25 years. Knowledge synthesis and mobilization activities have provided a platform from which to exchange valuable information that has been used to improve the quality of care delivered to emergency patients in Alberta, nationally, and internationally.
